"Whatever” Says the Sun

October 08, 2015 by Tom Stewart

The sun is high in the sky

It doesn’t give a fuck

It shines

Or it doesn’t

You feel its heat

Or you don’t

“Whatever.” Says the sun

And it floats and glows

It doesn’t care

About you

Or me

Your family

Your new car

Your religion

Your team

Your politics

It

Just

Doesn’t

Care

I wish I could be the sun

I would be warm

And I just wouldn’t care

About anything

‘Whatever.” I would say

and be warm

Floating

I might even let you bask in me

And I wouldn’t care

About anything
